Niusha Karkehabadi

is a Persian American multi-disciplinary performance artist, poet, and pleasure activist currently pursuing her masters in social work at Hunter college to eventually become both a somatic and sex therapist. In addition to her masters she works as a personal trainer and freelance performance artist. She grew up equally on the East and West coasts of the US and currently resides in Brooklyn, NY. Niusha carries a BFA in Dance along with a minor in Health and Wellness from Mercyhurst University. Niusha has experience teaching yoga and fitness classes from toddlers to those in assisted living homes and detention centers. She holds certifications in yoga, Reiki, and personal training through NASM. Their performance art exemplifies liberation represented through sensation as a means to allow our range of emotions to exist as they come. As a facilitator, Niusha offers the space to shift how the individual, and therefore, collective permits us to exist safely as ourselves. “How can we liberate the oppression of our bodies and minds in space through play, through pleasure, and through all the colors that fear, anger, joy, and love exist within?”
